"The Comeback of the Great White Shark in our Backyard”

Historically, great white sharks were rare off the coasts of New England and seldom encountered. However, the recovery of seal populations and changes in fishery management has allowed sharks to rebound. In this lecture, Dr. Tobey Curtis discusses the history of great white sharks in the northwest Atlantic Ocean, and the discovery of a great white nursery off the southern coast of Long Island.

Members and students with ID, free; non-members $15. The Museum is open at 6:20 pm. Reservations required.
