This lecture is an introduction to Toulouse Lautrec’s life, charting his journey between aristocratic circles in Southern France and cafes and brothels in Paris. While highlighting the portraits featured in the exhibition, this lecture will provide visitors the opportunity to learn more about the artist’s broader body of work, including his pictures of animals, cafe scenes, and book illustrations. Speaker - Mia Laufer is the curator of In the Limelight, and was the Zvi Grunberg Resident Fellow at the Bruce Museum for 2015-2016.
